Pool closure/Lesson cancellation

TTP Swim School Ltd or the Pool venue may on occasions have to cancel a lesson due to unforeseen problems; in these instances, we will issue you with a credit note which you can use towards the next course, if an alternative lesson is not offered. If suitable alternative lessons are offered, credits will not be issued. Please note that credits are valid for 3 months from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated.

Catch up classes

Subject to availability and as a goodwill gesture, TTP Swim School Ltd is sometimes able to offer catch up sessions for missed lessons through sickness.  This is not guaranteed and is only possible if there is space available in a suitable class.  A maximum of two make up lessons per term will be permitted. These are not refundable and cannot be rolled into subsequent terms.

If we are unable to accommodate a make-up session for a missed class, the session is lost (equal to non-attendance at the cinema, theatre show or other reserved events).

The opportunity of a catch-up class is a goodwill gesture and is not guaranteed.

Adverse weather/Traffic conditions

We are unable to refund or reschedule lessons that may be missed due to local adverse weather conditions or busy roads, unless the venue is closed due to this reason.

Medical conditions/Health records

Please let TTP Swim School know about any medical conditions or learning disability that a swimmer might have and notify us of ANY changes to existing conditions or any new medical condition discovered as soon as possible.

Please refrain from bringing swimmers into the pool if they are unwell.  For example, do not bring a swimmer to the lessons within 48 hours after suffering from diarrhoea, or if a swimmer has open sores/cuts or wounds. If you are unsure of your child’s illness or inability to swim for a medical condition, please seek advice from a doctor or chemist before coming to the pool.

If any medication is needed, please ensure that it is available and the swimmer and /or parent/caregiver is on hand and able to administer it. TTP Swim School are not permitted to administer prescribed medication.

Teachers

If a teacher is unwell or cannot attend a session, TTP Swim School Ltd will replace with a substitute instructor who will offer the same high standard on which our reputation relies upon. No refunds or credits will be offered if a replacement teacher is provided. TTP Swim School Ltd will give as much advanced warning as we can in these situations.

Teachers will teach both in and out of the water and provide visual demonstration. Due to the nature of the activity, some physical contact with the swimmers may be necessary to assist swimmers towards achieving good body positioning, correct stroke technique or in some instances to prevent or treat injury. Please advise if the swimmer is not comfortable with this.  Our staff adhere to the ASA/STA safeguarding guidelines and all swimmers are dealt with in a professional and respectful manner.

Trainee Teachers

There may be occasions where your class is taken by a teacher(s) in need of experience to complete their final stage practical side of their swim teaching qualifications. The regular class teacher will be present on these occasions, and you will be informed in advance when these sessions will take place.

Changing Rooms

Our pools are located within schools, therefore there are no private changing facilities and no private shower cubicles.

Please remove outer footwear and outer footwear of the swimmer, accompanying siblings or extended family members BEFORE entering the changing rooms.  While this may be a little tedious, any dirt from outside which is walked into the changing rooms will potentially end up in the swimming pool where your children and our staff are swimming. For the same reason, no prams should be taken onto the poolside or changing rooms.

We suggest that you bring sliders or flip flops to walk between the changing room/pool area and the viewing area.

You are responsible for your children and their behaviour in the changing room at all times.

Proceed with caution when in and around the changing rooms & swimming area as this is a wet environment. Always walk and refrain from carrying swimmers in wet areas to avoid injury caused by slips and trips.

The pools have gender separated changing facilities but there are no private changing facilities and no private shower cubicles.

Swimmers over the age of 8 years old are usually able to navigate the changing rooms on their own and are requested to do so, however, we do understand that this may not be possible or practical in the case of swimmers on the SEN register, or for swimmers (and parents) who may not feel comfortable with this.

If you need to accompany your child to assist them with changing, please use the changing rooms relating to the gender of the parent.

If an older swimmer needs assistance to get undressed/dressed, please use the changing room relating to the gender of the parent and be aware of the sensitivity surrounding this.

Please remember that not all needs and disabilities are visible, therefore please be patient and considerate if you are in a changing room and notice something you consider unusual or inappropriate. In this instance, please discreetly inform a member of staff at the time or bring it to our attention later if you do not feel comfortable at the time. Please remember to give our staff members an identifying feature of the individual(s) in questions.

Cooked food, glassware/crockery, sharp objects or hot beverages are not permitted in the changing rooms or on the poolside.

Please ensure that you take your rubbish home with you.

Valuables and Jewellery

TTP Swim School Ltd or the pool venues cannot accept any responsibility for any loss or damage of any personal possessions. Personal belongings left in the changing rooms are done so at the owner’s risk.

Photography/Videos

TTP Swim School Ltd may occasionally take photos/videos of our sessions for promotional use on our website or social media pages, with parental permission. You will be informed of any planned photography days.

Due to safeguarding concerns, we ask parents/caregivers to refrain from taking any pictures or videos of swimmers or TTP staff members in the swimming pool or changing areas.

General Considerations

Please do not arrive late for your lesson as this can be disruptive to the lesson. Persistent lateness may result in the swimmer being refused entry into the class.

Please make sure that the swimmer has eaten at least 1.5 hours before swimming.

Swim hats are compulsory: hats & goggles should be in place and correctly fitted before lessons begin.

Loose jewellery, plasters, hair clips etc must be removed before swimming to avoid causing damage to the pool filters.

Parents refrain from assisting the instructor in the teaching of the lesson in any way, unless help is requested.

Smoking/vaping/ alcohol etc is strictly forbidden on pool grounds. (This also includes while you are waiting in your car).

Refrain from bringing pets onto the premises.

Liability

TTP Swim School Ltd does not accept responsibility for any personal injury or fatality, loss or damage to persons or property that may arise directly or indirectly from any swimmer participation, spectator accident, or loss of property or articles left on the premises. I will not seek to penalise, prosecute or claim compensation from TTP Swim School Ltd or its staff for any injury, loss or damage.
