General Terms and Conditions for Swimming Lessons - DS Swim Ltd & DS Swim 121 Ltd (henceforth referred collectively as “DS Swim”)
- Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their children in the changing rooms before and after lessons.
- During lessons, parents/guardians must remain on poolside with their children.
- Outdoor footwear must not be worn on poolside at any time. Parents/guardians may wear shoe covers where these are available.
- Swimmers and parents should not walk down the narrow side of the pool at any time.
- Parents/guardians must ensure that any other children in their care who are watching, but not participating in the lesson which is currently taking place are fully supervised at all times and are kept away from the edge of the pool.
- Swimmers should have the following equipment with them:
- Boys – trunks or jammers. Please note that loose fitting shorts will restrict swimmers’ movements and therefore should not ideally be worn in lessons.
- Girls – a one piece swimming costume.
- Swimmers may wish to wear goggles, and we strongly recommend that they do so in groups 2 and above. We also recommend that swimmers keep a spare pair in their bag, just in case they ever forget to bring their normal pair!
- Swimmers may wish to bring a sports bottle containing water to drink during the session (no fizzy drinks please). Please note no glass bottles are allowed on poolside.
- During their lesson swimmers with long hair should either have their hair tied back, or wear a swimming hat.
- No photography or filming should take place either during lessons, in changing rooms, or at any other time whilst on site.
- No eating or smoking is permitted at any time on site. No drinking is permitted, with the exception of water contained a plastic bottle.
- Children may not play ball games whilst on site.
- For customers attending group lessons, payment should be made monthly, in full, via the GoCardless Direct Debit system on the 20th of each month. Each payment covers the following month’s lessons, e.g. the payment made on the 20th January covers lessons in February. Payments are made as 12 equal monthly payments covering 45 weeks’ of lessons per year, meaning the same amount is payable regardless of number of lessons taking place in that particular month.
- For customers attending 121 / 221 lessons should make payment in full 1 week in advance of each lesson.
- Cancelation Police - Group Lessons:
- if notice is given between the 1st and 15th of the month, then the required notice period is to the end of that calendar month. No further payments will be taken.
- If notice is given between the 15th and end of the month, then the required notice period is to the end of the following calendar month.
- Should scheduled lessons be cancelled by DS Swim for any reason, the cost of the lesson will be deducted from the next GoCardless payment. Please note that where this happens on or after the 15th or the month, this will usually be deducted from the following month’s payment.
- Cancelation Policy - 121 and 221 Lessons:
- Where customers cancel a 121 / 221 lesson with at least 48 hours, 50% of the cost of the lesson will be deducted from their next GoCardless payment. Customers are required to pay in full for any 121 / 221 lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours notice. Cancelations should be made by emailing info@dsswimacademy.com
- Should scheduled lessons be cancelled by DS Swim for any reason, the cost of the lesson will be deducted from the next GoCardless payment.
- Where swimmers are under the age of 18, parents are responsible for submitting medical information to DS Swim, and keeping DS Swim up to date with any change of medical information or contact details. Where the swimmers is under 18 years of age, this responsibility falls to the parents.
- During swimming lessons, DS Swim teachers will possess either the Rescue Test for Teachers and Coaches award, or National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, with a ratio of no more than 1 qualified teacher/coach to every 6 swimmers.
- Filming and photography may take place within these sessions for the purposes of publicity, marketing, or as a teaching aid, in accordance with Swim England “Wavepower” guidance. Any parents who do not give permission for their child to be filmed must confirm this in writing by emailing info@dsswimacademy.com. Any parent not sending such an email will be assumed to have give permission for such filming or photography to take place.
- All customer information and data collected by DS Swim is held in accordance with GDPR procedures.

Terms and Conditions Specific to our Highfield Hall School Venue
- Customers should only park in the main school visitors’ car park at the end of the school's main driveway.
- Swimmers should bring their own kick board and woggle to each lesson. These can be purchased from DS Swim, or any good swimming equipment supplier.
Terms and Conditions Specific to our Worksop College Venue
- Customers should only park in the visitors’ car park, which can be accessed by turning right from the main school driveway just before reaching the Swimming Pool building.
- Swimmers should bring their own kick board and woggle to each lesson. These can be purchased from DS Swim, or any good swimming equipment supplier.
Terms and Conditions Specific to our Woodhouse Venue
- Customers should park on the driveway of 19 Old Cottage Close, ensuring that they park on the right of the driveway in front of the garage, and do not restrict access to the rest of the driveway. Customers may also park on Station Road, however please note that PARKING ON OLD COTTAGE CLOSE IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
- Customers are strictly prohibited from accessing the rest of the house beyond the pool hall, and should not go up the stairs under any circumstances.
