- Hats must be worn by all children aged 3 years and above. We do not require adults or babies participating in Parent & Baby classes to wear a hat.
Attendance
Swimmers, parents, guardians, siblings, and all other associates, must observe all the rules of the venue. Facility staff shall retain the right to refuse admission. No refund or “catch-up lesson” will be offered where a child fails to attend or is refused permission to attend any sessions.
Siblings During Parent & Baby Lessons
Under no circumstances must siblings under the age of 12 years accompany unsupervised within any part of the building during a Parent & Baby lesson where the parent is in the pool participating in the lesson. All siblings must be fully supervised by a non-participating responsible person over the age of 16 years at all times. Failure to comply will result in refusal of admission to the lesson with no refund or catch-up offered.
Shoe Covers
Shoe covers must be worn by all before entering poolside and changing rooms. Alternatively shoes may be removed.
Transmission of Infections
Please do not attend lessons if anyone in your household is suffering from any symptoms of covid or have had a positive test result.
Any swimmer known to be or found to be suffering from any infectious ailment or condition will not be allowed to participate in the lesson and it is the responsibility of each swimmer or (in the case of a child swimmer) the parent or guardian of the swimmer to ensure that the swimmer is fit and well enough to participate. If a sibling is known to be or found to be suffering from any infectious ailment or condition, he/she will not be allowed to enter the building.
In the event of illness involving vomiting or diarrhoea we require swimmers to not attend lessons for 48 hours after the last bout of illness. In the event of a confirmed case of Cryptosporidium please do not attend swimming for 2 weeks after the symptoms have ceased.
Steph's Swim School will not accept liability for any infection passed to a swimmer by another swimmer on the course or in the pool.
Lesson Fees
All fees must be paid each month by direct debit. Swimmers will not be allowed to participate in any swimming lessons if the direct debit is cancelled. If in the event the direct debit payment is rejected, we shall automatically re-apply for the payment plus an additional £5 default charge. If our direct debit is rejected on the second attempt, lessons shall be withdrawn unless payment is made by transfer within 48 hours of it being rejected with a default charge of £10.00 added to the invoiced amount.
Group lessons
Upon booking your first month of lessons you wish to cancel a course you may do so by contacting us in writing by email within seven days of making the original booking and before the first lesson taking place.
After this, if you wish to cancel a course effective from the end of a calendar month you may do so by contacting us in writing by email 5 days prior to the next direct debit payment date. If notification is received after payment has been collected no refund shall be due.
Please also note that we cannot provide credits or refunds if you are unable to attend any of the lessons for any reason.
Medical Conditions and Individual Needs
Steph's Swim School cannot accept responsibility for the medical condition or other needs of any swimmer unless a full disclosure of the details has been made to the swim instructor by the swimmer or the parent or guardian of a swimmer when first registering the swimmer for lessons, or following any medical condition being diagnosed during a course of lessons after the swimmer has been accepted for tuition. We may ask for a letter from the doctor to confirm that the swimmer has been cleared to swim.
Valuables
Steph's swim school will not accept liability for the loss of or damage to any personal effects brought to any session and you are therefore requested to ensure that no valuable items are brought to the swimming lessons.
Teachers
Although we cannot guarantee the teachers in the long term we will try our best to keep some consistency. Where a teacher is absent, we make every possible effort to ensure that the teacher covering the lesson is a face familiar to the swimmers. All our teachers are ASA or STA qualified teachers and have all relevant qualifications and insurances.
Behaviour
In the event of a swimmer, parent, guardian, sibling, and other associate refusing to obey an instruction from a member of staff, behaving in an unruly manner towards a member of staff or any other person, or causing damage to pool premises or any of the furniture fixtures or equipment in those premises, the swimmer shall not be permitted to continue with the lessons. Steph's Swim School shall then have the right to terminate the lessons without further notice and without being required to offer any credit or refund to the swimmer and the swimmer shall not be accepted for any future course organised by the company.
It is not required that you sign these terms and conditions, however, by making payment and arriving for each session you agree to abide by them. If you have any questions relating to any of the above information do not hesitate to contact our team.
