Terms and Conditions

Aspire Swimschool – Terms & Conditions

1. General

  • Aspire reserves the right to amend courses, timetables, class structures, or instructors at any time. Instructor changes may occur without notice where unavoidable.
  • By making payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
  • All swimming lesson bookings, including 1:1 sessions, secure a place in the selected stage and time slot. Bookings are not assigned to a specific swimming teacher.

2. Payments & Direct Debits

  • All customers must set up a GoCardless account for direct debit payments.
  • Failure to make payment may result in immediate cancellation of all future lessons.
  • Direct debits are calculated as: price per lesson × no of lessons in the month. Therefore, monthly direct debits may not be the same every month.
  • Lessons operate 50 weeks per year, including school holidays and bank holidays.
  • Direct debits are collected on or around the 1st of each month.
  • Aspire will provide at least one month’s notice of any price changes.
  • A £5 administration fee will be applied to all failed direct debit recharges.
  • Where a membership discount applies, customers must provide a valid Membership ID number at the time of booking. Failure to do so will result in full charges, and no retrospective refunds will be issued.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

  • All cancellations must be submitted in writing via the Client Hub portal with a minimum of 4 weeks’ notice.
  • Courses and bookings are non-refundable under all circumstances once payment has been made.
  • No refunds will be issued for circumstances beyond Aspire’s control (e.g. severe weather, structural issues, emergency road closures).
  • No credits, refunds, or make-up lessons will be provided for missed sessions, including absences due to sickness, holidays, or religious holidays.
  • No credits or refunds will be provided if the regular teacher is off and a cover teacher is provided for the lessons.
  • No credits or refunds will be issued for 121 swimmers when a regular teacher is absent, and a qualified cover teacher is provided for the lesson.
  • Aspire reserves the right to cancel a child’s place if 3 or more consecutive lessons are missed without prior communication.
  • Aspire reserves the right to cancel a child’s place if a direct debit payment fails.

 

4. Lesson Progression

  • When a swimmer is ready to move to the next stage, the teacher will inform the swimmer. The swimmer or parent must then contact the admin team, who will advise on available spaces.
  • Swimmers in 1-2-1 lessons are encouraged to join bridging classes or small group lessons once their teacher is happy with their progress or they have progressed to swim 25m confidently. The swimming teacher will advise the best group lesson for the swimmer based on their ability.
  • 1-2-1 swimming lessons are available for disabled children aged 3–16. These lessons will conclude once the swimmer reaches the age of 16. At that point, the swimming teacher will provide guidance and advice on the most suitable next steps in their swimming journey.
  • Aspire cannot guarantee immediate availability in the next stage or preferred time slots.

5. Safety & Conduct

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising children in the changing areas at all times.
  • Changing cubicles must not be reserved.
  • All swimmers must take a pre-swim shower and are encouraged to wear a swimming hat.
  • No outdoor shoes are permitted on poolside.
  • Customers are encouraged to use lockers; locker bands are available from reception.
  • Aspire requests that all communication is made via the Client Hub portal to ensure accurate and timely responses.
  • All spectators must view the swimming lessons from the poolside viewing balcony.
  • If a swimmer requires a parent or carer to remain on poolside during their lesson for medical reasons, one parent / carer may remain seated on the bench.
  • Swimmers must not attend their lesson if they have experienced diarrhoea or vomiting from a stomach-related illness within the 24 hours before their session.
  • Swimmers who are not toilet trained must wear a swim nappy while in the pool.

6. Certificates & Awards

  • Certificates and badges are available for purchase at reception for £3.50 each.

7. Training Centre Operations

  • Aspire is a Swim England–approved training centre and delivers Level 1 and Level 2 swimming teacher qualifications and lifeguard (NPLQ) courses.
  • During these courses, trainee teachers may assist or teach lessons under full supervision from qualified instructors and course tutors.

8. Parking

  • Customers must register their vehicle with Parking Eye using the terminal inside the centre or by scanning the QR code provided.
  • Registration provides up to 4 hours of free parking.
  • Aspire cannot cancel or intervene in any Parking Eye fines issued due to failure to register, the customer must follow the appeals procedure on the back of the letter, we suggest including your booking confirmation evidence to show you are a customer.
  • Overflow parking is available on Monday & Thursday after 3.30pm and all day at the weekends in the Hospital Visitor Car Park, this can be accessed via the Brockley Hill entrance.
